How much time do we have?

The average ceremony is 20 to 30 minutes long. Your time begins at the ceremony time selected.

Is there a table to use for a sand ceremony?

Yes, we have a white table included in our packages for you to use. 

Is there a room for the bride to get ready?

Yes, we have a Bridal Suite based on availability. Check out our Bridal Suite Castnetter Beach Resort – Coquina Location 

Where do we park our vehicle?

At our Bridal Suite, Castnetter Beach Resort – Coquina Location, there is 2 parking spaces available. If you are staying at properties on Anna Maria Island please contact them for parking details. Parking at the public beach is free and is first come first serve. If you are planning to park at the public beach we recommend reserving your spot early. There is no overnight parking at the public beach.

Where are you located?

We are located on Anna Maria Island – Bradenton Beach, Florida. Our Bradenton Beach location is on Gulf Drive and 13th Street.

How do we book our Shore Thing Wedding?

How far in advance should we book our wedding?

We recommend booking your date as soon as you are ready and far in advance. You can book your Wedding by calling us at 941-226-1080 or e-mail us at britney@shorethingweddings.com. To book your special date, we require the deposit for the Ceremony Package you have selected and are unable to hold a date without the deposit. After the deposit or full amount has been received, you will get a confirmation e-mail with your contract and any additional information.

Are we allowed to bring decorations?

Yes, we allow you to bring some decorations – the price of the package remains the same. Decorations that are brought must be discussed at least 14 days prior to your wedding date so that they are placed properly during setup. Depending on the package you have selected, we provide Shephard’s Hooks, Lanterns, Arbors, Arbor fabric of your choice, and signs. We have a Preferred Partners page List where you can incorporate decorations such as a Dove Release, Sand Sculptures, and Florals. Third Party Vendors are not accepted.

Can we do a rehearsal?

Rehearsals are not included, but we are happy to do a walk-thru with you if needed. 

If it rains, what is the plan?

Shore Thing Weddings does not have an indoor back-up location. We do not book weddings one after another which leaves wiggle room for the wedding to be later/earlier than the scheduled time. During scheduled wedding days, we keep a close eye on the weather and are flexible in our start/finish time. We are not responsible for rescheduling any vendors you may have booked during your ceremony.

Will we be the only people on the beach?

No, Coquina Beach is a public beach. However, the location is not very active and the likelihood of random people in the area is minimal. We are unable to block off an area for the ceremony. The amount of visitors varies on the time of day and month.

Who is in charge of performing the ceremony?

Male or Female Officiant, A Florida Notary Public, or Ordained Reverend

What attire will the officiate wear?

The Officiates will be dressed in appropriate wedding attire, a collared shirt and dress pants. Many of the Officiates on our Preferred Partners page will work with you for special request.

Will a staff member be present during our ceremony?

Yes, Two Staff Members will be present during your ceremony to ensure everything runs smoothly on your special day. Our Staff will also complete the set-up and removal of you Beach Wedding décor.

Can my fiancé and I provide our own officiant?

You are more than welcome to provide your own Officiant. The Officiant must be a Notary for the State of Florida or an Ordained. The amount of the package remains the same. 

Are we allowed to create our own vows?

Of course! If you and your fiancé are planning to write your own Vows, please let us know over the phone 941-226-1080 or by e-mailing us at britney@shorethingweddings.com. We will also need a copy of the vows at least 14 days prior to your special day.

How do we pay for our Ceremony?

At the time you book, the deposit is required for reserve your date. You are welcome to pay more than the deposit or pay the full amount. You can find the deposit amount on our  Packages Page. The deposit is applied to the final costs of the package. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your ceremony date. Shore Thing Weddings accepts major credit cards or checks made out to Shore Thing Weddings LLC.

How much deposit is due to reserve our date?

The deposit due depends on the Package you have selected. Once you find the package you have selected, look at the bottom and you will find the required amount. The deposit is nonrefundable. 

When is the final payment due?

Balance is due 30 days before your ceremony date. The deposit you paid is applied to the final costs of the package. Shore Thing Weddings LLC accepts major credit cards and checks via our secured, PayPal link.

Is there a photographer included?

Shore Thing Weddings does not include a photographer. We have special pricing through Shooting Star Photography for Shore Thing Wedding Clients. Please review our Preferred Partners list of professional photographers specializing in Anna Maria Island wedding photography. We encourage you to check out their galleries to pick the photographer’s work that you love.

What does Shore Thing Weddings specialize in?

We specialize in intimate Beach Weddings on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.

Is there music included?

Yes, pre-recorded music of your choice. Please review our Preferred Partners list for Live Bands, Violinists, Steel Drum Bands, etc. to enhance your ceremony.

Do you provide chairs for the ceremony?

Yes, depending on the package you select. Our largest package includes 40 chairs. 

How do we obtain our marriage license?

You can obtain your marriage license at the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit located at 1115 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, FL 34206.

Can you obtain our marriage license for us?

No, according to the Florida Law, both members who are getting married must be present.

What do we do with the license once the ceremony is complete?

Once the ceremony has been completed by the Officiant, the Officiant will sign the document, leave the ceremony with the document, and will mail the license to the court. In approximately one to four weeks, you will receive a certified copy of the license to the address you provided.

Can my fiancé and I mail the marriage license instead of the Officiant?

Yes, marriage licenses are time sensitive and must be mailed to the court within 10 days of your ceremony date. After 10 days the license is invalid. To avoid the stress of getting the license to the court, it is much easier for the Officiant to do it for you. If you both decide to mail the married license to the court, Shore Thing Weddings is not responsible for any errors or deadline requirements that are not met.

How do we get a permit for get married on the beach?

Shore Thing Wedding will handle your beach permitting requirements.

What is the cancellation policy?

Deposits made towards your Ceremony are non-refundable. If you paid more than the deposit or paid-in- full, you will receive a refund less your deposit.

Once our wedding is booked, can we postpone the date?

Yes, but we require a minimum notice of 30 days. Your deposit will be applied to the rescheduled date and only valid for a maximum of 6 months. The original date scheduled is the start of the 6 months. Once the 6 months is expired, you will need to pay a new deposit and sign a new contract.

What months do you recommend for getting married on Anna Maria Island?

The average annual temperature is the Sunshine State is 72 degrees with Summer temperatures in the upper 80’s. November thru February are the cooler months with temperatures in the highs of 70-78 degrees. Any month and day you choose will be a great choice for your special day. We host ceremonies Monday – Sunday with Friday’s and especially Saturday’s being the most popular. Coquina Beach is less crowded during the week and tends to fill up as the weekend comes around. Listed below is the average high and low temperatures for each month. We encourage you to take a look and pick the month that best suits you.
